Girls Track Dominant in Season Opener

Boys Finish Fifth

The outdoor season got off to a strong start for Brush Track & Field at the Bill Dodd Invitational, highlighted by a team championship performance from the girls and a solid showing from the boys.

The Brush girls claimed first place overall, fueled by a combination of individual excellence and dominant relay performances. Destiny Johnson led the way with a first-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles (15.44) and added a runner-up finish in the high jump (5-1). Brielle Ray was outstanding in the field events, sweeping both the discus (108-6) and shot put (36-1.5) to score major points for the Arcs.

On the track, Paige Walker sprinted to a second-place finish in the 100-meter dash (12.56), while Hailey Flowers earned second in the 800-meter run (2:34.37). Kennedie Worsham added a third-place finish in the 300-meter hurdles (52.32), and Michaela Bates placed fourth in the 100-meter hurdles (17.24).

Brush's relay teams played a key role in the team title. The 4x400-meter relay team took first place with a time of 4:15.12, while the 4x800-meter relay placed second (10:50.93). The 4x100-meter relay team finished second (51.27), just behind Maple Heights, and the 4x200-meter relay added a third-place finish (1:49.45).

On the boys side, Brush finished fifth overall, highlighted by a pair of first-place finishes. Marshon Jolly captured the 400-meter dash title with a time of 50.85, and the 4x400-meter relay team also took first place, clocking in at 3:35.05.

Overall, it was an impressive opening meet for the Arcs, with strong performances across the board setting the tone for a promising outdoor season.
