The Brush Lady Arcs wrestling team put together a spectacular performance at the district tournament, finishing as the district runner-up with 85 points, trailing only Austintown-Fitch, which claimed the top spot with 116.5 points. In a field of more than 90 teams, Brush's second-place finish solidified the program's growing reputation as one of the top teams in northeast Ohio.

Leading the way was freshman sensation Amari Johnson, who captured the district championship at 170 pounds. Johnson capped off her impressive run with a pin of John Adams' Tamiya Whittsette in the finals. Johnson, now 49-4 on the season, is no stranger to success—she captured a middle school state title just last year and will now look to add a high school state championship to her growing resume.

At 155 pounds, junior Brooklyn Baskin was a force throughout the day, dominating her opponents—including a 17-second pin in an early round match. Baskin powered her way into the championship match before falling to Reghan Koch of Austintown-Fitch. With a 44-11 record, Baskin has her sights set on making noise at the OHSAA state tournament.

Brush's state-bound trio also includes junior Olivia Fox, who showed grit and determination in the 140-pound bracket. Fox battled her way through the consolation bracket to secure a fourth-place finish and earn her third consecutive trip to the state tournament.

The Lady Arcs now turn their attention to the 2025 OHSAA state wrestling tournament, held at Ohio State University from March 7-9, where they'll look to make history on the sport's biggest stage.
