The Brush Lady Arcs continued their dominant run with a resounding 59-11 victory over the Shaw Cardinals, marking their ninth consecutive win. The triumph moves the Lady Arcs to an 11-2 record on the season, while Shaw drops to 2-9.
Leading the charge for Brush was
Chaniyra McDowell-Isaacs, who poured in a game-high 18 points—all in the first three quarters—on 9 field goals. Her performance was a key factor in the Lady Arcs' fast-break-heavy attack, which overwhelmed Shaw at every turn.
Juianna Ferreira also contributed significantly, adding 12 points to the total as Brush built an insurmountable lead early.
Samiyah Lyles was instrumental on both ends of the floor, contributing 11 points, including three 3-pointers, and showcasing her defensive abilities throughout the game. Keyarra "Moo" Shields had a well-rounded performance with 9 points and numerous fast-break assists, consistently creating scoring opportunities for her teammates.
The Lady Arcs were dominant from the opening whistle, jumping to a 29-0 lead after the first quarter and extending the margin to 44-4 by halftime. The game allowed Brush's reserves, including
Taya Pempton,
Kyra Phinnessee, Isys Cook,
Jayonna Shaw-King, Addie Harris, and Shianne "Scoop" Lipscomb, to gain significant playing time, further deepening the team's experience.
Shaw was led by Serenity Kent-Cox, who scored 5 points, and Quorion Smalls, who chipped in 4. However, Shaw struggled to contain Brush's high-paced offense and lock-down defense throughout the game.
The Lady Arcs are now preparing for a highly anticipated matchup against Avon Lake next Wednesday, January 15, at Welser Gym. Avon Lake, known for its tough competition, will present a significant challenge for Brush as they look to continue their strong season.
