Brush High School sophomore sensation
Tatiana Mason has been named the Northeast Lakes District Division 3 Player of the Year by the Ohio Prep Media Association. A well-deserved honor after leading the Lady Arcs to a remarkable 22-2 record and a second straight trip to the regional semifinals.
Mason has been the engine for Brush this season, leading the team in points (18.7 per game), rebounds (11 per game), and assists (3.5 per game). Her consistency has been remarkable, recording 15 double-doubles in her last 17 games, highlighted by a career-high 34 points and 14 rebounds against Kennedy Catholic on January 25.
Mason's award continues her rise as one of Ohio's brightest young stars after earning Third Team All-State honors in Division I as a freshman last year before the Lady Arcs moved to Division 3 this season.
She's not the only Brush player earning district honors.
Fellow sophomore
Chaniyra McDowell-Isaacs was also named First Team All-District. The lightning-quick point guard has been a dynamic force for the Lady Arcs, ranking second on the team in scoring at 14.6 points per game while also leading the team with over 3 steals per game. McDowell-Isaacs was previously recognized as Special Mention All-State as a freshman last season and continues to set the tone with her tenacious defense and explosive playmaking.
Freshman
Nylah Mason also made her mark, earning Third Team All-District honors after a strong debut season in which she averaged 10 points per game. Nylah's emergence has added valuable depth to the Lady Arcs' attack, and her future looks bright alongside Brush's talented core.
Junior center
Jakalyn Brown was also named honorable mention.
With three underclassmen earning district honors, the future remains incredibly bright for the Lady Arcs as they continue their postseason run.
