Brush High School Wrestling is kicking off the season with a strong showing in the preseason rankings, as seven wrestlers have been recognized at the state level. The Lady Arcs program, in particular, shines with five athletes ranked by
American Women's Wrestling, while two standout members of the boys team have also been highlighted by
Borofanohio.net.
The Lady Arcs continue to solidify their reputation as one of the top programs in Northeast Ohio, with the following wrestlers earning spots in the
American Women's Wrestling preseason rankings:
- Le'Naysia Dickson (Senior) – Ranked 6th at 235 lbs; 2024 OHSAA state placer and News Herald Girls Wrestler of the Year
- Lyneyya Anthory (Junior) – Ranked 8th at 100 lbs; 2024 OHSAA state qualifier
- Olivia Fox (Junior) – Ranked 10th at 140 lbs; a 2024 OHSAA state qualifier
- Amari Johnson (Freshman) – Ranked 10th at 170 lbs; 2024 OAC middle school state champion last year
- Brooklyn Baskin (Junior) – Ranked 21st at 155 lbs
On the boys' side,
Borofanohio.net has recognized two Arcs wrestlers for their potential this season:
- Jonathan Sims (Senior) – Ranked 6th at 190 lbs
- Josiah Sims (Freshman) – Ranked 12th at 113 lbs
"To have seven students coming into the 2024-25 season ranked in the state preseason rankings is an amazing achievement," said head boys coach Richard Hall. "It demonstrates the dedication of the student-athletes here in the Brush wrestling program. Our teams' mantra is "We Achieve What Others Cannot Conceive!"
