Chet Mason

The 2000 Ohio High School Mr. Basketball and 2000 USA Today Ohio Player of the Year, Chet Mason is entering his tenth season as the Arcs head basketball coach, compiling an overall record of 136-51 and winning five conference titles. Among his coaching accolades, Mason has been honored as a five-time Western Reserve Conference Coach of the Year and the 2018-19 Calling Post Newspaper Coach of the Year.

This summer, Mason was named an assistant for the 2024 Men's U17 National Team, helping guide the USA to the gold medal at the FIBA World Cup in Turkey.

Recently, he was an assistant for the 2023 Men's U16 National Team that captured the gold medal.

Mason was also an assistant coach for the 2022 USA Nike Hoop Summit Team. He previously worked as a court coach during training camp for the 2021 Men's U16 National Team.

Mason's first USA Basketball coaching assignment came at the 2019 Men's Junior National Team October minicamp.
Mason played professionally for 10 years in the NBA D League and several European leagues. While playing for Široki (Bosnia and Herzegovina), he was named the Adriatic League MVP in 2009-10.

Collegiately, Mason made 117 career starts (second-most all-time) for the Miami University RedHawks. Over his career, he compiled more than 1,200 points, 800 rebounds, 300 assists and 150 steals, joining Ron Harper as the only players in program history to do so. Mason was named the MAC Defensive Player of the Year and the RedHawks' Male Co-Athlete of the Year in 2005. Also that season, he was a first team All-MAC selection and led Miami to an NIT berth following a regular season MAC title.
