The Brush Lady Arcs girls soccer team continued its impressive 2026 campaign Thursday night, traveling to Ashtabula Lakeside and returning home with a convincing 7-0 victory over the host Dragons.  And once again, junior standout Salena Betts was at the center of the offensive explosion.

Fresh off being named a News-Herald Player of the Week, Betts added four more goals to her already remarkable season total, recording her seventh hat trick of the 2026 campaign — three or more goals in a single match. This ties Salena for most hat tricks in one season with - her graduated sister MARISSA ! Marissa Betts is still the Lady Arcs record holder for most goals in a season (35) and most points in a season (75) which took place in 2022. But with 7 regular season matches remaining (plus playoff participation), you can be assured that Salena will make a run at those school records !

The four-goal performance pushed Betts' season totals to an eye-popping 24 goals and five assists for 53 total points through nine matches.

Betts wasted little time making her presence felt against Lakeside, scoring her first two goals with assists from Brianna Reed, before adding another goal on an unassisted effort.
But the Lady Arcs' offensive production was hardly a one-player show.  Reed, who had already helped set the table for Betts, got into the scoring column herself, finding the back of the net for her sixth goal of the season. Emily Ricciuti provided the assist with 20:13 remaining in the opening half, giving Brush an even greater cushion.  Then it was sophomore Nyla Ross' turn to shine.  The spirited sophomore scored twice (13 goals, 2 assists, 28 points total this season), with Reed and Betts combining to provide the assists as Brush continued to pull away from the Dragons.

By halftime, the Lady Arcs had established complete control.

Just two minutes into the second half, Betts completed her four-goal evening, once again finding the back of the net and putting the finishing touches on another extraordinary offensive performance.

While the Brush attack was piling up the goals, the Lady Arcs' goalkeeping corps was taking care of business on the other end of the field.
Lakeside was held scoreless for the entire 80 minutes, giving Brush its sixth shutout in nine matches this season — an impressive indication that the Lady Arcs are finding success on both sides of the ball.

With the victory, Brush improves to 7-2 on the 2026 season.
