There truly is no place like home for the Brush Lady Arcs.  After suffering a loss on the road last Thursday, Brush returned to the friendly confines of Welser Gym Tuesday night and responded in impressive fashion, sweeping the visiting Maple Heights Mustangs, 3-0.

The Lady Arcs controlled the match from the opening serve, winning the first set 25-20 before edging Maple Heights 25-21 in the second. Brush then put the match away in convincing fashion, dominating the third set 25-12 to complete the straight-set victory.

Shilah Sample paced the Brush attack with a team-high four kills, while Amarie Merritt contributed three assists. At the service line, Alaina Appline was particularly effective, recording a team-high eight aces.

Brush's balanced effort also included strong contributions throughout the lineup, with Merritt adding six service aces, three assists and a kill, while Shilah Sample contributed three aces and four kills.

Defensively, PJ Tamang helped keep the Lady Arcs in system with a team-high 14 digs.

The victory moves the Lady Arcs to 6-5 on the season, giving Brush a winning record and some welcome momentum heading into tonight's matchup.  The Lady Arcs won't have to wait long to get back on the court, as Brush travels to face Madison at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday.

For one night, at least, Welser Gym once again proved to be home sweet home for the Lady Arcs.
