Arcs Shutout Richmond 33-0 Behind Moore's Career Night

Game Stats

Winning is always nice, but doing so with a season-high point total on Homecoming night makes it even better. The Brush Arcs gave their fans plenty to celebrate Friday night at Korb Field, exploding for a 33-0 victory over the Richmond Heights Spartans in a game that featured an electrifying start, a dominant running attack and, perhaps most importantly, a defense that refused to surrender a single point.  The victory lifted Brush to 3-2 at the midpoint of the 2026 campaign, while Richmond Heights dropped to 3-2.

Louis Cunningham opened the game with an unforgettable 87-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, immediately putting Brush in front and igniting the Homecoming crowd. As it turned out, Cunningham's return provided all the offense the Arcs' defense would have needed on this night.

However, Brush's offense wasn't finished.

Junior Mishawn Vines followed with a 31-yard touchdown scamper, before sophomore Lawrence Moore powered his way into the end zone from eight yards out, attacking the right side of the Spartan defense.

Moore wasn't finished.

The sophomore running back scored again on a 1-yard touchdown run, this time plunging straight through the middle behind a bulldozing Brush offensive line.
By halftime, the Arcs had built a commanding 27-0 advantage.

The second half brought more of the same defensive dominance, while Brush added another touchdown on a 2-yard run by Moore, his third of the night, to complete the 33-0 shutout.
For the night, Brush ran 49 offensive plays and accumulated 216 total yards, including 157 rushing yards at an impressive 5.6 yards per carry. Moore led the way with a career-high 105 yards on 18 carries.

Meanwhile, the Brush defense completely frustrated a Richmond Heights offense that entered the game with a 3-1 record.  The Spartans managed just 127 total yards, including only 29 rushing yards. Richmond Heights did gain 98 yards through the air, but the Spartans committed three turnovers — including two interceptions and a lost fumble — while the Arcs played a clean game.

The result was Brush's most commanding victory of the season and another impressive chapter in what has become a productive stretch for the Arcs. Dating back to last season, Brush has now won seven of its last nine games, averaging 28.2 points per game during that stretch.

But there will be little time to savor Friday night's celebration.

Next Stop: Garfield Heights
The Arcs now turn their attention to what may be their biggest test of the 2026 season thus far — a road trip to face the Garfield Heights Bulldogs this Friday.
Garfield Heights enters the matchup at 3-2, after opening the season 3-0 before suffering back-to-back narrow defeats. The Bulldogs fell to McDowell (Pa.), 21-20 in overtime, before dropping a 20-14 decision to VASJ last Friday.

For Brush, the trip to Garfield Heights represents a significant early-season road test and an opportunity to build on the momentum created by Friday night's Homecoming performance.
The Arcs enter the matchup 3-2, riding the confidence of a 33-point offensive explosion and a defense that has just authored its first shutout of the season.

Kickoff is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. Friday at Garfield Heights.
