Frierson's Clutch Hitting Propels Brush Over Heights, 25-7

Zayshelle Frierson drove in five runs on three hits to lead Brush Varsity Arcs past Cleveland Heights 25-7 on Friday. Frierson doubled in the fourth scoring three, doubled in the fourth scoring one, and singled in the fourth scoring one.

Brush Varsity Arcs scored 17 runs in the fourth inning on the way to victory.  Frierson doubled, scoring one run, Kassidy Burge drew a walk, scoring one run, an error scored one run, an error scored two runs, Frierson doubled, scoring three runs, an error scored one run, Leah James drew a walk, scoring one run, Jeida Gardner singled, scoring one run, River Senadenos drew a walk, scoring one run, Prajita Tamang singled, scoring one run, Raia Ross singled, scoring two runs, Frierson singled, scoring one run, and an error scored one run.

Brush Varsity Arcs got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Yanni Ramsey drew a walk, scoring one run, and James laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring two runs.

Brush Varsity Arcs added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning when a passed ball scored one run, and an error scored two runs.

Brush Varsity Arcs added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Cleveland Heights dropped a third strike, and Mackenzie Griffin doubled down the left field line, each scoring one run.

Tamang started in the circle for Brush Varsity Arcs. The hurler surrendered two hits and four runs (three earned) over two and one-third innings, striking out none and walking four. R.  McMahon led things off in the circle for Cleveland Heights. The starting pitcher gave up seven hits and 18 runs (10 earned) over three and one-third innings, striking out four and walking 10. Gardner appeared in relief for Brush Varsity Arcs.

Brush Varsity Arcs collected 11 hits in the game. Tamang, Gardner, and Ross each collected multiple hits for Brush Varsity Arcs. Burge led Brush Varsity Arcs with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, collecting 14 walks for the game. Tamang, Gardner, Ross, Nyla Ross, and Griffin each stole multiple bases for Brush Varsity Arcs. Brush Varsity Arcs ran wild on the base paths, amassing 19 stolen bases for the game.

M.  Morris and J.  Snead were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected one hit for Cleveland Heights while hitting back-to-back. Morris drove the middle of the lineup, leading Cleveland Heights with two runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Cleveland Heights had patience at the plate, accumulating seven walks for the game.

Next up for Brush Varsity Arcs is a game against Lakeside on Saturday.
