The remarkable season for the Brush Lady Arcs came to a close Saturday afternoon inside the historic Canton Memorial Fieldhouse, where the Copley Indians used a blistering shooting performance to claim a 67–51 victory in OHSAA postseason action on March 7.
Brush battled throughout the contest and found a standout effort from All-Ohio junior
Tatiana Mason, who delivered 21 points on 7-of-13 shooting, including 4-of-6 from three-point range, while adding five rebounds and three assists. Her ability to stretch the defense kept the Lady Arcs within striking distance for much of the afternoon.
Nylah Mason also reached double figures, scoring 12 points and converting 10-of-14 free throws, attacking the rim and drawing contact consistently.
Addisyn Harris contributed nine points, including three three-pointers, while senior
Jakalyn Brown added seven points and eight rebounds inside.
But Copley's offensive efficiency proved decisive.
The Indians shot 48.9 percent from the field and an impressive 46.7 percent from three-point range, capitalizing on quality ball movement and timely shot-making. Leading the charge was Evelyn McKnight, who erupted for a game-high 34 points (
28 in the second half) connecting on 11-of-20 shots and 12-of-14 free throws while also recording seven steals.
Copley also received a strong supporting performance from Zoey Van Voorhis, who poured in 20 points, including six three-pointers in the first half, giving the Indians a potent one-two scoring combination that Brush struggled to fully contain.
Statistically, the Lady Arcs worked hard to stay competitive on the glass, collecting 16 offensive rebounds and producing 16 second-chance points, while forcing nine deflections and five steals defensively. However, Copley's shot efficiency and ability to score 24 points in the paint helped maintain control of the game.
Brush finished the afternoon shooting 28.3 percent from the floor, compared to Copley's nearly 49 percent, a margin that ultimately proved difficult to overcome.
Despite the defeat, the loss does little to diminish what was a memorable campaign for the Lady Arcs (21-6), who continued to establish themselves as one of Northeast Ohio's most exciting programs. With star talent returning and valuable postseason experience gained, the foundation remains strong for future success.
On this day, however, inside one of Ohio's most storied basketball venues, it was Copley that advanced — and the Lady Arcs who were left reflecting on a season defined by resilience, growth, and promise.
