Brush High School has officially released its 2026 varsity football schedule (link), setting the stage for what promises to be an exciting and competitive final season as an independent before joining the United Athletic Conference (UAC) in 2027.

The Arcs are coming off a strong 2025 campaign in which they finished 6-4 overall, winning their final four games and narrowly missing the OHSAA playoffs. That late-season momentum has energized the program heading into 2026.

Head Coach Ricky Powers will enter his fifth season at the helm, continuing to build on the foundation of toughness, discipline, and steady improvement that has defined his tenure.

The 2026 schedule features six repeat opponents from last season along with four new matchups that will test the Arcs in different ways. Among the new opponents:

• Aug. 28 – vs. North Ridgeville High School

• Sept. 18 (Homecoming) – vs. Richmond Heights High School

• Oct. 16 – vs. Lutheran East High School

• Oct. 23 – at Mogadore High School

The Arcs last traveled to Mogadore during the 2021 season, falling to the Wildcats 23-9. The 2026 road contest presents an opportunity for Brush to measure its growth against a traditionally competitive program.

Coach Powers believes the schedule's diversity will prepare his team for the postseason-style challenges they aim to reach.

"The 2026 season will be full of new challenges," said Powers. "We have a diverse schedule with teams that run spread versus power. From teams that are stacked to stop the run, to teams that are very athletic and can do a little bit of both. I feel that this team will take it one game at a time and rise to the challenge. We're looking forward to building on to the successful season we had a year ago."

With a balanced slate of familiar rivals and new opponents, along with the added motivation of closing out an era before entering the UAC in 2027, the 2026 season promises to be a pivotal chapter in Brush football history.
