Lady Arcs Flex Depth, Dominate Anthony Wayne

Brush continues to assert itself among Ohio's elite, climbing to No. 5 in the latest News-Herald Top of the Crop rankings following a commanding week that included wins over then–No. 5 Magnificat and Toledo-based Anthony Wayne.
The Lady Arcs punctuated the rise with a thorough 84–62 dismantling of Anthony Wayne on Saturday, outscoring the Generals in every quarter and controlling the game at both ends of the floor. The victory marked Brush's fifth straight home win and its fifth triumph this season by 22 points or more, further underscoring a growing pattern of decisive performances. The Arcs have emerged victorious in 8 of their last 9 contests.

The Mason sisters once again set the tone. Nylah Mason poured in a career-high 29 points, while Tatiana "Tati" Mason delivered one of the most complete performances of the season, recording a triple-double with 25 points, 13 rebounds, and 13 assists. Her ability to dictate tempo, rebound in traffic, and consistently find open teammates highlighted a night in which contributions came from every corner of the roster.  Perhaps the most impactful performance belonged to senior post player Jakayln Brown, who dominated the interior. Brown scored 17 points on an efficient 8-of-9 shooting, ripped down 11 rebounds, blocked two shots, and deflected three passes. Her presence made the paint a perilous area for Anthony Wayne, altering shots and anchoring a defense that consistently won the physical battle inside.

Forward Juliana Ferreira continued her strong recent play as well, filling the stat sheet with seven points, eight rebounds, three assists, and two steals, providing steady production on both ends.

Brush's statistical edge reflected its control of the game. The Lady Arcs shot 50.8 percent from the field, and did significant damage where it mattered most—outscoring Anthony Wayne 44–26 in the paint and 19–8 in transition. The 84 points represented a season high through 12 games for an offense that continues to add layers and balance.

Anthony Wayne, which entered the contest sporting a 10–1 record, was led by the Pike sisters. Senior Leah Pike turned in an outstanding all-around effort with 32 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists, while sister Mallory Pike added 12 points, six rebounds, and four assists. However, the Generals received limited production beyond that duo, and their 11-game road winning streak dating back to last season came to an end.

The win pushed Brush to 10–2 overall and reinforced its upward momentum after last week's 67–50 victory over Magnificat. Next up, the Lady Arcs return to Welser Gym tonight to host the Warrensville Heights Tigers, who bring a 4–4 record into the 7:00 p.m. tipoff, as Brush looks to continue its impressive run against a Greater Cleveland Conference opponent.
