Geneva's Fast Start Too Much for Lady Arcs

Geneva scored 11 runs in the first inning and never looked back, defeating Brush 19-6 on Thursday.

The Lady Arcs got on the board in the top of the first inning after Zayshelle Frierson doubled to center field, and Lauryn Hines singled to left field, each scoring one run.

The Eagles flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the first, scoring 11 runs on seven hits to take the lead, 11-2. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Caidyn Siegel on a 3-0 count that drove in three.

Raia Ross homered to left field, scoring two runs in the top of the second for Brush.

Geneva scored six runs on three hits in the bottom of the second inning. An error scored two runs, Finley Mongell scored after tagging up, Siegel tripled, scoring one run, and Kailyn Cerjan tripled, scoring two runs.

Ross went 2-for-3 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Ross, Hines, and Frierson each collected two hits for Brush. Hines stole three bases.

Geneva piled up 12 hits in the game. Siegel drove the middle of the lineup, leading the Eagles with four runs batted in. The number three hitter went 4-for-4 on the day.
