Zayshelle Frierson drove in five runs on two hits to lead Brush past Cleveland Heights 21-4 on Wednesday. Frierson hit a home run to center field in the second inning, scoring three runs, and doubled in the first inning, scoring one.
The Lady Arcs scored 11 runs in the second inning on the way to victory.Â
Raia Ross scored after tagging up,
Lauryn Hines drew a walk, scoring one run,
Layla King singled, scoring two runs,
Haleigh Ellis singled, scoring one run,
Mackenzie Griffin grounded out, scoring one run, Ross singled, scoring one run, Frierson homered to center field, scoring three runs, and Hines doubled, scoring one run.
Brush jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after
Leah James doubled, scoring one run, Frierson doubled, scoring one run, and
Yanni Ramsey tripled, scoring two runs.
Cleveland Heights scored one run in the top of the second on a solo home run to left field by Jasmine Betti.
The Lady Arcs added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning when Ross singled, scoring two runs, and one run scored on a dropped third strike.
Jeida Gardner stepped in the circle first for The Lady Arcs. The pitcher allowed two hits and two runs (one earned) over three innings, striking out two.
Brush piled up 10 hits in the game with Ross, Frierson, and King each collecting two hits.
