The Lady Arcs wrestling team dominated the competition at the Vermilion Defense Soap Invitational on Sunday, capturing the team title with 161 points, top amongst the 36 schools in attendance. with eight placers on the afternoon, including one first place finish
Freshman Amari Johnson, a middle school state champion a year ago, posted a perfect 5-0 record against the field in the 170lb weight class. Johnson defeated junior Tamiya Whittsette of John Adams by fall in the first place match to win her first varsity tournament championship.
Brooklyn Baskin (155lb) and Le'Naysia Dickson (235lb) also made it to the championship match in their respective weight classes, but suffering defeat.
