Raia Ross Drives In 4 To Lead Brush Past St. Martin de Porres

Raia Ross drove in four runs on two hits to lead Brush past St. Martin DE Porres 27-4, giving the Lady Arcs their first win of the season (1-4). Ross hit an inside the park home run in the third inning, scoring two runs, and walked in the first inning, scoring one.

Brush jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Zayshelle Frierson hit an inside the park home run, scoring three runs, Trinity Amey laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring one run, Ross drew a walk, scoring one run, and Leah James drew a walk, scoring one run.

The Lady Arcs added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Yanni Ramsey hit an inside the park home run, Layla King singled to center field and St. Martin de Porres committed an error, each scoring one run.

Brush scored six runs on two hits in the bottom of the third inning. An error scored one run, Jeida Gardner drew a walk, scoring one run, Samyla McGee singled, scoring two runs, and Ross hit an inside the park home run, scoring two runs.

Brush scored 11 runs on six hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. Gardner singled, scoring two runs, an error scored one run, an error scored one run, McGee drew a walk, scoring one run, James drew a walk, scoring one run, Frierson singled, scoring one run, Gardner drew a walk, scoring one run, an error scored one run, Mackenzie Griffin singled, scoring one run, and Haleigh Ellis singled, scoring one run.

Amey stepped in the circle first for the Lady Arcs, giving up three hits and four runs (one earned) over five innings, striking out three.
Brush tallied 13 hits in the game. Ross, Gardner, Frierson, Ellis, and Ramsey each collected two hits.  Defensively, Brush turned three double plays.

Naveyah Gray went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Fluker, Lai'Yauna Booker, and Gray each collected one hit for St. Martin DE Porres. Alisha Fluker led St. Martin DE Porres with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, piling up 10 walks for the game.

The Lady Arcs host Maple Heights Varsity Mustang on Thursday.
