The Lady Arcs softball dropped its home opener on Tuesday, falling to Shaker Heights 14-1 at Welser Field.
 Shaker got on the board in the first inning after a wild pitch scored one run.
A walk by Emelia Chevraux, and a triple by Reagan helped Shaker extend their early lead in the second.
Emerson Miller hit an inside the park home run, scoring two runs in the top of the third for the Red Raiders.
Jeida Gardner stepped in the circle first for Brush. The starter allowed 13 hits and 14 runs (11 earned) over five innings, striking out four and walking 12. Scout Harvey opened the game for the Red Raiders. The starting pitcher allowed six hits and one run over six innings, striking out seven and walking one.
Zayshelle Frierson went 2-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in for the Lady Arcs. Gardner and Frierson each collected two hits for Brush.
 Shaker amassed 14 hits in the game. Reagan drove the middle of the lineup, leading the Red Raiders with six runs batted in. The infielder went 4-for-5 on the day.Â
