Winning is always a sweet feeling, but for the Brush Arcs, putting together a season-high performance in the process makes it even more satisfying. On Saturday, the Arcs put on a show, cruising past the John Marshall Lawyers 90-66, earning their third consecutive victory over the Lawyers in as many encounters. The game was a clinic in both scoring and defense, as Brush demonstrated a well-rounded, dominant display to notch their 13th win of the season.
While the Arcs excelled across the board, the backcourt was especially effective, making their mark early and often. Shooting guard
Khalil Dudley led the charge with an impressive 24 points. Dudley's scoring outburst was complemented by point guard
Dekhi Owens, who delivered a stellar stat line of 21 points, 11 rebounds, and 7 steals. Owens' all-around play was a key factor in the Arcs' commanding performance, and his ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor proved critical in the win.

In the absence of star player
Damari Dammons—who missed his fifth consecutive game with an injury—Brush was able to rely on some timely contributions from other players, including small forward
Jay Gilchrist. Recently emerging as a key figure in Dammons' absence, Gilchrist provided a strong performance, shooting 6 of 8 from the field and 4 of 5 from the free throw line to finish with 16 points in just 24 minutes. His efficient scoring kept the offense humming, even with Dammons sidelined.
The Arcs also got solid performances from other contributors.
Prince Ryleigh-Johnson's efforts on both ends of the floor helped secure the win as he added 8 points and grabbed 9 rebounds, rounding out the team's balanced attack.
Despite the loss, John Marshall wasn't without its bright spots. Forward Reece Green gave a standout effort, recording a double-double with 18 points and 3 rebounds. He also added 4 assists and 5 steals, continuing his strong play this season. Green's 18 points marked his highest scoring output since December 2024, providing a glimpse of his scoring ability.
Another key player for the Lawyers was Dhal Dhal, who finished with 10 points and an impressive 14 rebounds, giving John Marshall a much-needed presence in the paint. Additionally, Tylan Richardson and Elijah Hall both contributed in double figures, with 13 and 12 points, respectively. However, despite these solid individual performances, the Lawyers were unable to overcome Brush's firepower.
Brush's victory was aided by superior shooting, as the Arcs outshot John Marshall 42% to 38% from the field, including a strong 38% from beyond the arc compared to just 20% for the Lawyers. The Arcs also dominated the free throw line, converting 24 of 33 attempts (73%), while John Marshall shot only 50% (9 of 18) from the stripe.
Turnovers also played a significant role in the outcome, as the Arcs turned 34 John Marshall turnovers into a staggering 36 points. On the other hand, John Marshall capitalized on just 18 points from 26 turnovers by Brush, further highlighting the Arcs' ability to make the most of their opportunities.
With the win, the Brush Arcs improve to a 13-7 record, continuing their upward trajectory. The victory also pushed their home record to 4-0 during their current four-game home streak. John Marshall, on the other hand, has struggled of late, losing six of their last seven games, which has resulted in a 7-14 record so far this season.
Both teams now look to their home crowds for support in upcoming games. The Arcs will next face off against Padua Franciscan at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup will feature two teams with momentum—Brush having won four straight at home, and Padua Franciscan coming in with three consecutive road victories. The game promises to be a fierce battle, as both teams will be eager to extend their winning streaks in a crucial late-season clash at Welser Gym.
